Lord Swaminarayan, also known as Sahajanand Swami, was born on 3 April 1781 (Chaitra Sud 9, Samvat 1837) in Chhapaiya, a village near Ayodhya.<br />2. Lord Swaminarayan’s original name was Nilkanth Varni and he became a Sadhu at a very early age.<br />3. At the age of 11, he began a seven-year pilgrimage across India and on this journey he did welfare activities.<br />4. At the end of his journey, he settled in Gujrat and provide his service to the leader of Uddhav Sampraday.<br />5. Uddhav Sampraday was later changed to Swaminarayan Sampraday and Swaminarayan became the central figure in this modern sect of Hinduism, which is also believed to be a form of Vaishnavism.<br />6. Within this faith, Swaminarayan is worshiped as an incarnation of God - Narayana and is related to the Supreme Being.<br />7.
